The security camera across the platform was a no less sublime example of a video installation. Supremely unintended?. Perhaps called ,"he/she who waits..."

Patterning

Just went to the Charles Burchfield show at the Whitney. Interestingly, at one time Burchfield worked as a designer at a wallpaper factory in Buffalo, New York, using his fascination with nature in the service of home decoration.

His wallpaper reminded me of a subway train I saw earlier this year. The whole train exterior had been patterned to advertise Target. It was slick and beautiful. Imagine if artists and surface designers were asked to do all the trains. What a phantasmagoria that would be.

Rarely Seen Art!

Yesterday I was stuck on a subway train. A train broke down in the station ahead, and there were trains behind us at the last. Unable to go backward or forward into a station, after quite a delay we rolled slowly, connecting to the offending train, then exiting by walking car to car through both trains. It was a perfect blog opportunity for tunnel art you never get to see. Ah, rara artis!
