I've been trying to paint a tree in acrylic. I'm still not comfortable with the medium and at the same time I'm trying to grapple with it's "treeness." Questions like whether the pour with floating greens works as leaves or whether I should use a high gel and actually carve the trunk. Should I put real gold highlights on the bark? Are the clouds too flat and whiteish needing a light glaze of another color. I wish it could just be. So in envy, I posted a few rocks, photos that remind me of Andy Goldsworthy, talismans that I might someday get nature right.
